An incident occurred with a Telesis 2 system where there was a main/reserve entanglement. During the investigation, one of the scenarios focused on the RSL and the possibility of its being snagged and activating the reserve before releasing the main canopy. While there was no direct proof of the RSL causing the entanglement, further testing resulted in the development of a protective sleeve to preclude accidental snagging of the RSL.
The Talon 2 and Telesis 2 utilize the same RSL configuration. Talon 2 owners who have an RSL installed may wish to have their system modified as well.
