In recent years it has become fashionable for business and industry to proclaim their
support of our military personnel. This is an admirable statement to make if it is indeed from the heart. However, in many cases it is simply another byline from the advertising or PR department.

I believe that it is important for our customers to know that when they see this policy stated by Rigging Innovations, they know it is fully supported by the company and its owners. Before beginning jumping in May 1970, Sandy Reid, president and co-owner, served two tours in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 with the USMC 3rd Recon Bn as a 20 year old Recon team leader and later as a platoon Sgt.

The bonds formed in combat are some of the strongest an individual can make in their life. This extends forever to all men and women that serve their countries in the military.

A similar type of bond exists in the skydiving community in that both endeavors are an extreme adrenaline high. Having done both, I firmly adhere to what Winston Churchill once said as a young officer. “There is no greater thrill than to be shot at and missed.” I believe that is one of the reasons that we have a high percentage of military and former military who take up skydiving, to replace the thrill of combat with another adrenalin fix.

So, when you see this policy from Rigging Innovations posted and actively supported,
you will know that it comes from one who has been there and got the T-shirt. We really do support those who serve their country.
